Our Other Attorneys

Stephen Gallenson has been a trial lawyer in Sonoma County for more than thirty years. He has practiced in a variety of areas including criminal defense, personal injury, civil defense, and administrative law. More recently, Stephen has focused most of his attention in the area of criminal defense.

During the past thirty years Stephen has litigated numerous cases ranging from misdemeanors, such as driving under the influence, assault and battery and resisting arrest to more serious felonies including murder, vehicular manslaughter, burglary, robbery, possession of drugs for sale, cultivation of marijuana and transportation. Since 1996 and the passage of laws allowing for medical marijuana, Stephen has become an expert in this area and has successfully resolved, or caused the dismissal of, numerous cases involving cultivation, transportation, and the operation of collectives and dispensaries.

Aggressive in his approach to defending those charged with crimes, Stephen believes in attacking the prosecution’s case from pretrial motions through trial. In addition to winning many cases at trial, his efforts have caused many serious cases including sexual assault, murder, and drug cases to be dismissed prior to trial.

Stephen received his undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1974. He received his Juris Doctorate from Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon in 1982. He is a member of the State Bar of California and the Sonoma County Bar Association.

Stephen has lived in Sonoma County for thirty-four years. He enjoys spending time with his two children, traveling and playing tennis.
