Caitlin van Loben Sels is the newest attorney in the office, but she is no stranger to the law. Caitlin graduated from the Empire College paralegal program with President’s Honors in 2010. She then went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Empire College School of Law in 2017, where she was
class valedictorian.
In 2010 she began working as a paralegal at the Law Office of L. Stephen Turer before arriving here at the Law Offices of Andrian & Gallenson in 2014. It was Steve Turer who – recognizing her skills for research and writing, knack for understanding and interpreting the law, and passion for fighting for the clients in his office – encouraged her to attend law school. As a law student Caitlin received the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Contracts, Torts, Evidence, Civil Procedure, Real Property and Best Oral Argument for her Moot Court class. She also competed on the school’s Moot Court team.
Caitlin passed the California State Bar in November 2017. She has worked on criminal defense cases ranging from rape, assault, and murder (assisting as co-counsel at trial) as well as handling a wide range of juvenile and adult cases, expungements, and the sealing of arrest records.
Caitlin was born and raised in Sonoma County where she currently resides with her husband and young son.
